What Time is President Trump Inauguration 2025 On Monday (Watch)
On Monday, President-elect Donald Trump will officially begin his second term in the White House by taking the oath of office.
With the Trump administration taking over the executive branch from the Biden government, the inauguration signifies the formal handover of presidential authority. According to the 20th Amendment, the president-elect is sworn in shortly after the president’s four-year tenure finishes at noon on January 20.
The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural celebrations is responsible for organizing the inaugural celebrations for the president-elect and vice president-elect. The committee, which is led this year by Minnesota Democrat Sen. Amy Klobuchar, is in charge of eight activities on Inauguration Day:
1. the march to the Capitol;
2. the swearing-in ceremony for the vice president;
3. the swearing-in ceremony for the president;
4. the inaugural address;
5. the outgoing president and vice president’s honorary departure;
6. the signing ceremony, where the new president signs executive orders, proclamations, memorandums, or nominations;
7. the inaugural luncheon;
8. the pass-in review, where the president and vice president examine military personnel; and
9. the presidential parade, which, because of the cold, will be held at Capital One arena in downtown Washington.
The theme of this year’s ceremonies is “Our Enduring Democracy: A Constitutional Promise.”
What time does Trump’s inauguration 2025 start?
Around 11:30 a.m. ET, the inauguration ceremony is scheduled to start, setting up Trump’s swearing-in as president at approximately noon. Because of the frigid weather that were predicted for Washington on Monday, the president-elect opted to move the ceremony indoors to the Capitol Rotunda instead of holding it on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol.
How long will the inauguration ceremony last?
Although the duration of the inauguration ceremony is not predetermined, it lasted almost an hour when Mr. Biden was inaugurated in 2021 and Trump took the oath of office in 2017.
What’s the schedule for the inauguration ceremony?
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Combined Choirs and “The President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band will play a musical prelude before the inaugural events start, according to the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee.
The Rev. Franklin Graham and Timothy Cardinal Dolan, the archbishop of New York, will give an invocation after Klobuchar calls the assembly to order. “Oh, America!” will be performed by Christopher Macchio, an opera singer known as America’s Tenor.
JD Vance will next take the vice presidential oath of office from Justice Brett Kavanaugh of the Supreme Court. After Justice Anthony Kennedy retired, Trump nominated Kavanaugh to the high court in 2018.
The Armed Forces Chorus and the U.S. Naval Academy Glee Club will join country music artist Carrie Underwood for a performance of “America the Beautiful.”
Trump will take the presidential oath from Chief Justice John Roberts after their performance.
Following the return of the Naval Academy Glee Club to sing “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” Trump will give his inaugural speech.
Pastor Lorenzo Sewell of 180 Church Detroit, Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, president of Yeshiva University, Imam Husham Al-Husainy of the Karbalaa Islamic Education Center, Rev. Father Frank Mann of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn, and Macchio will all give benedictions before the ceremony comes to a close.
