Veteran Nollywood Actor Columbus Irosanga, aka Igbudu Dead; Obituary, Cause Of Death
With the loss of seasoned Nollywood actor and scholar Columbus Irosanga, popularly known as “Igbudu,” the Nigerian film industry has lost a cherished figure.
Hilda Dokubo, another renowned actress, took to Instagram to convey the heartbreaking news.
Hilda shared her sorrow in her article, stating that Irisoanga had departed to be with the Lord.
“Our uncle Coli @colu_mbusirisoanga has gone to be with the Lord,” she said, reflecting on the loss. Eh dein na mu ikoli.
The fact that the few here are called home in this manner suggests that there must be an abundance of angels in heaven! Uniport Rivers State Nollywood is heavily featured in this one.
In addition to being a well-respected senior lecturer in Theatre Arts at the University of Port Harcourt, Dr. Irosanga gained widespread recognition for his iconic portrayal of the terrifying chief priest, Igbudu, in the 2001 Nollywood blockbuster Issakaba 2.
He gained a permanent place in the hearts of moviegoers with his stirring performance.
In addition to his well-known part in Issakaba 2, Dr. Irosanga starred in a number of other movies, such as Elders at War, Agbako, Dog Meeting, Ojadike, Clash of Native Doctors, and Selina Tested.
His contributions to academia and his impact in Nollywood will always be valued and remembered.
