President Elect Donald Trump Launchs Meme Coin $TRUMP.
Social media users wondered if the president-elect was hacked when he revealed a new product that seemed so dubious.
The president-elect’s social media channels sold Friday what might be the newest Trump-branded merchandise: Trump Memes, or cryptocurrency assets being marketed as “$TRUMP,” with only a few days till Trump goes to the White House.
You’re not the only one who thinks that sounds suspicious: Even after the postings were live for a few hours, many social media users remained curious about whether Trump’s Truth Social and X accounts had been compromised.
Trump continued to post on his Truth Social account after encouraging users to purchase Trump Meme coins and “Join my very special Trump Community.” He also announced the appointment of a new deputy secretary of education, but it seemed that her name was misspelled.
According to the Trump Meme website, the assets were created using the blockchain platform Solana. Trump’s statement urging prospective buyers to “Celebrate Our Win & Have Fun!” is featured on the product’s website.
The meme itself, which shows Trump with his fist raised and the words “FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT” with his signature displayed, may be seen by scrolling down. “On July 13, 2024, President Trump faced death and came up fighting!” is the explanation provided in a product description that promotes the meme as a “piece of history”.
According to the website, “80% of the Trump Cards are jointly owned by Fight Fight Fight LLC and CIC Digital LLC, an affiliate of The Trump Organization.” Through licensing deals with CIC Digital LLC, Trump has earned millions of dollars. According to Delaware records, on January 7, a Fight Fight Fight LLC was established.
Additionally, it “is not political and has nothing to do with any political campaign or any political office or governmental agency,” according to the Trump Meme website.
An email request for comment was not immediately answered by the Trump-Vance transition team.
Trump and his family made numerous absurd (and genuine) commercial pitches during the 2024 campaign, and they have continued to do so as his inauguration draws near, despite the fact that many social media users weren’t persuaded that the Trump meme pitch was genuine.
A “God Bless the USA Bible,” a translation of the Bible that the president-elect personally approved, has been part of the endeavors.
Weeks after Gibson, a guitar manufacturer, issued a cease-and-desist order against the website, Trump urged supporters to purchase a Les Paul-style six-string from “Trump Guitars” the day before Christmas eve last month.
Other items on the market include $100,000 watches, assassination attempt fragrance, and horrifying gold Trump footwear. Trump declared in September that he and his family were launching World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency company.
