Jimmy Mashburn, Akron Coach and Educator Tragically Dead in Car Accident.
According to acquaintances, James “Jimmy” Mashburn, an intervention specialist at Stow-Munroe Falls High School, passed away.
According to accounts, Mashburn died in an automobile accident. Numerous social media tribute tributes were made in honor of the Akron, Ohio citizen.
Hearing the news today made me very sad! One message stated, “Jimmy Mashburn will undoubtedly be missed as he was always one of the nicest guys.”
Jimmy Mashburn attended Stark State College of Technology and the University of Akron, where he earned his Bachelor of Education in 2018, after graduating from Coventry High School in 2010.
Since August 2022, Mashburn has served as Stow-Munroe High School’s intervention expert. He used to work at Green Local Schools as an intervention specialist.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he has held positions as a warehouse worker at the House of LaRose, a mild/moderate intervention specialist at Stow-Munroe Falls High School, and a warehouse supervisor at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.
Jimmy had two children with his wife, April Lynn.

Jimmy Mashburn, an intervention specialist at the Stow-Munroe Falls City School District, passed away. He was a blessing to know, a friend to everyone, and an enthusiastic teacher and coach. A lovely spirit was lost to the world.
We lost a wonderful individual yesterday night, as many of you are aware. Mashburn, Jimmy He was a wonderful individual who made everyone feel better.
Jimmy was adored by everyone at the winery. Since so many people have contacted us, we would like to get together on Wednesday night to support Jimmy.

The late Howard and Arlene Clark Sanders welcomed Jimmy into the world on November 29, 1965. For many years, he was employed at Mansion Homes.
He was a people-person who was always willing to lend a hand and worked for several people in the neighborhood. Jimmy loved football, and the Philadelphia Eagles were his favorite team. He loved fishing, hunting deer, and being outside.
For many years, Jimmy played softball on local teams and was a decent player. He has a deep affection for his granddaughters.
To share his love of the outdoors with children, he enjoyed to shoot the “bean shooter,” make fish baskets, and make “rabbit boxes.” Jimmy had an enormous heart, particularly for kids of all ages.
He could recite numerous verses from memory and loved reading his Bible.
Jimmy’s siblings include Linda Shaw (Frank), Michael Sanders, Brenda Vest, Harold Clark (Pat), Barbara Stoneman (Clayton), Betty Saunders, Helen Chriscoe, his devoted dog “Little Girl,” his daughter Jessica Dunn (Garland), his granddaughters Madison and Caroline, and other nieces, nephews, and friends.
Reverend Clayton Stoneman will officiate the funeral ceremony at Smyrna Church on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM. The church cemetery will be the next place of burial. The family will receive friends beginning at noon.
The friends who have supported Jimmy during his sickness are appreciated by the family.
